Why work with me?

I am an ABTC and APDT Registered Trainer and a Behaviourist with CAPBT, and a provisional member of the APBC*. I am committed to helping owners fully understand their dogs’ behaviour and to provide training and solutions to problems which are positive and contribute to a happy, and long-lasting relationship built on trust and understanding.

  • Whether you are currently struggling with the intensity of owning a new puppy or navigating adolescence then I can provide excellent and supportive training solutions to help you create, maintain or recapture the relationship you want with your young dog.

  • If you are feeling overwhelmed or daunted by the difficulties in settling in, managing or resolving the problems a new rescue dog can bring with them then I can help you develop a bond of trust and understanding with your dog, whilst providing solutions to problems based on empathy, knowledge and experience.

  • Perhaps you’re struggling with a behaviour problem such as separation anxiety, aggressive behaviour, fears or reactivity. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge with which I can support you.

  • Maybe you would like to explore a new activity with your dog? Whether you have a young dog who needs an outlet for its energy or an older dog or rescue dog who needs to build confidence, Scentwork is the new and exciting dog sport that everyone is talking about.

Your Training Pathway

Training Classes

Small, supportive group classes for puppies and adolescents. Follow-on classes and outdoor classes are also available to develop training or develop recall skills. I can advise on all common training problems and the classes cover socialisation, as well as teaching all the basic commands.

One to One Training

Whether you have an adult dog, a young puppy, a new rescue dog or a tricky adolescent, I will take a personalised approach to any training troubles that you may be facing. From basic skills such as recall and lead walking to more complex issues, I can help you and your dog.

Behaviour Solutions

1-1 behaviour consultations and packages are the route forward for when you are struggling with an aspect of your dog’s behaviour that you need additional help with. Pauline is very well qualified in this area and has a wealth of experience in dealing with problematic behaviour.

“A Wealth of Experience”

“Whether it is puppy training, dog behaviour problems or dog sports like agility and scent work, Pauline is a highly recommended professional trainer with a wealth of experience and a natural affinity with dogs. Both my nervous collie and I have benefited hugely from Pauline’s expertise over the past 2 years and have had lots of fun along the way.”

About Me

I am passionate about helping owners to create harmonious relationships with their dogs, based on true understanding and using positive science based methods. I became a dog trainer 25 years ago after asking for help with my first dog who was very challenging so I know exactly what it is like to struggle with the behaviour of a beloved companion. I currently live with three dogs, all rescue dogs and have had dogs from puppies, older dogs and rescued a dog from abroad. All of these dogs required behavioural help to work through and resolve the problems they came to me with. This invaluable, first hand knowledge allows me to help owners to understand how to apply patience, and to resolve problems through understanding, management and making changes to behaviour in small steps until they resolve.

“Fun and Informative”

“I have been training with Pauline for about 10 years. I started with agility and have done a variety of training since, including outdoor classes, puppy classes, social walks and, more recently, Scentwork . Classes are always fun and informative and I would highly recommend Pauline.”
